Lufthansa Group Orders 5 Additional Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft

Lufthansa Group (DLAKF) is expanding its fleet by acquiring additional Airbus long-haul aircraft, increasing its firm orders for the A350-1000 model from ten to fifteen units. These aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2028 and 2030, with the total order valued at approximately two billion US dollars based on list prices.

With an impressive fleet comprising 60 A350-900s and 15 A350-1000s, the Lufthansa Group ranks among the world's largest A350 operators. Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, commented, "Today's order highlights our strong confidence in our long-standing and successful partnership with Airbus. By adopting these state-of-the-art A350 long-haul jets, we are accelerating the most significant fleet modernization in our history. Our investment is unprecedented, aimed at making air transport more sustainable, achieving our CO2 reduction goals, and simultaneously providing our customers with unrivaled comfort and a top-tier travel experience."

Including this latest order, Lufthansa Group's historical orders with Airbus total 770 aircraft, marking the airline as Airbus' most significant customer globally.
