US national debt tops $33 trillion for first time in history

According to the US Department of the Treasury, the country's national debt has grown by half a trillion dollars in less than a month, and that is not the limit. US Treasury officials are concerned about the rapid growth of the country's government debt. In less than a month, it has increased by $500 billion. Earlier, the funded debt reached a new all-time high of $33 trillion and continues to grow. The US Treasury reports that the country's public debt is estimated at $33 trillion 513 billion. On September 18, it reportedly reached $33 trillion 44 billion for the first time in history, exceeding $33 trillion. In early June, US President Joe Biden signed a debt ceiling increase into law, suspending the nation's borrowing limit until January 1, 2025. The law came into force a few days before a possible default in the country, which could occur on June 5, 2023.
