OpenAI plans to create ‘iPhone of artificial intelligence’

On October 3, the media reported that ChatGPT owner OpenAI was in discussion with Apple’s former chief design officer Jony Ive and Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son to build the “iPhone of artificial intelligence.” Specialists plan to work on a device that provides a “more natural and intuitive user experience” to interact with artificial intelligence that can compete with ChatGPT. Meanwhile, the project is still in its early stages and several different ideas for the device are still being considered. According to preliminary estimates, the device will be powered by the Arm chip produced in-house. Notably, the share of Softbank investments in this innovation is 90%. In addition, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expects to receive $1 billion from Softbank for the development of the project. At the same time, the official announcement about the "iPhone of artificial intelligence" should appear in a few months.
