King Charles III’s coronation chairs to be sold at auction

According to The Times, British auction house Christie's will auction off six pairs of velvet-upholstered chairs crafted specially for King Charles III's coronation ceremony. On May 6, 2023, King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation was arranged at Westminster Abbey. The auction is scheduled for October 13 and November 3 and will be held in London, Paris, and New York. Made with British oak, the blue velvet chairs are decorated with a gold monogram of Charles III and his wife Camilla. The media reports that the identity of the royal sitter remains a secret.
