A consulting company that evaluates the brand value, Brand Finance, published the annual rating of the most expensive airline brands in the world. You can find top 10 of the rating in our photo gallery.

The top ten included mainly American and Chinese companies. The second year in a row, American Airlines holds the leader position. And this is not even looking at the fact that over the year its price has fallen from $9.811 billion to $9.094 billion.

Brand Finance gave the second place to the American company Delta. The brand was valued at $8.712 billion compared to $9.232 billion a year earlier.

The fourth place is occupated by Emirates. The company from the UAE took the same place as a year earlier, but in 2016 it was at the head of the rating. In 2017, its brand, according to the consulting company, cost $6.082 billion, and this year it fell to $5.336 billion.

The fifth place belongs to the low-coster from the USA, Southwest Airlines. For the year, the brand's cost fell to $5.298 billion from $6.001 billion a year earlier.

The sixth place among the most valuable global brands was awarded to China Southern Airlines. The brand climbed one position in the rating because for the year the company has risen in price and is now estimated at $4.063 billion ($3.705 billion in 2017).

Another Chinese carrier strengthened its position, rising to seventh place, China Eastern Airlines. According to the data of Brand Finance, the brand has gone up in price from $3.145 billion in 2017 to $3.810 billion in 2018.

British Airways lost two positions by falling from the sixth place to the eighth. The brand of the British company was estimated at $3.484 billion this year ($3,708 in 2017).

According to Brand Finance, the brand has risen in price to $1.429 billion from $1.270 billion in 2017. But at the same time, for the second year in a row, Aeroflot is considered as the most recognizable aviation brand.
