This metropolis is situated in the same area, where previously the base of the Russian and Soviet Navy - Port Arthur – was located.

More than three dozen of houses have already been commissioned, as well as a school and a hotel. Later the Russian Town will have a large clinic, pier, shopping center, entertainment and business complexes. In addition, a yacht club and golf course will be constructed.

The Russian delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the monument to the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin.
The Chinese Kaishi Corporation was engaged in construction of the town. The total area of the complex was 35 thousand sq. km., 12 km relate to the coastline. For three years, more than 30 houses, a school and a hotel was built. At the moment, the amount of investments is $187.3 million, but in the future it will increase to $4.72 billion.
At the moment it is unknown when the "Russian town" will have a clinic, shopping center, entertainment and business complexes, as well as a golf course and yacht club.
In the late nineteenth century, the Russian Empire has leased the Liaodong Peninsula for a quarter century. The Russians founded Port Arthur and Dalny port, which is now called Dalian. After the Russian-Japanese War, Port Arthur became Japanese part. In 1945, the Soviet troops liberated Northeast China from the Japanese troops, and then the government of China handed over Port Arthur to the Soviet Union for three decades. Ten years later, the USSR withdrew the troops from the peninsula and returned the territory to China.
