On August 17, the explosion destroyed the building of one of the most popular play centers in Las Vegas – the Riviera Casino. The decision to close the hotel-casino was taken by the authorities in 2015, but the building's demolition was delayed until the middle of 2016.

In June, the authorities demolished the first of the two buildings of the complex – the tower "Monaco". After the destruction of the second tower - "Monte Carlo" complex was completely razed to the ground.
