Last year, one of the most popular electric cars Tesla Model 3 broke all sales records. In 2018, sales of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in the USA soared to a record 79% headed by the innovative Tesla Model 3. This, in turn, has led to a significant rise in sales volume of the electric car industry in the US. By early June this year, the number of sold Tesla Model 3 cars has reached 67,650.

This model ranks second in the list of leading best-selling electric cars. It is another extremely popular model by Tesla, and its sales records are high not only in the US but throughout the world. This year, the number of sold units in early June has already advanced to 9,000.

Audi e-tron

This fully-electric mid-size crossover is produced by Audi AG. The car is powered by a 95 kWh battery that can charge the vehicle by 80% in as quick as half an hour. For in-home charging, there is a standard 11 kW charger which makes the battery full in 8.5 hours. In 2019, before June, the sales of this brand in the United States amounted to 1835 units.

Jaguar I-Pace

An electric crossover Jaguar I-Pace has become a breakthrough model of the British company Jaguar Land Rover. The innovative vehicle was announced in March 2018,

and deliveries started in the second half of 2018. It is the first premium electric crossover from a European automaker. Jaguar I-Pace quickly won favor with a wide range of customers becoming the most popular high-class car.

Jaguar I-Pace in its first year of sales received 62 international awards from automotive industry groups and media publishers. In the United States, up to June 2019, 1309 units were sold.

Smart EQ Fortwo

This electric car appeared on the auto market thanks to Daimler AG and today is handled by the Smart concern. This two-seater city hatchback introduced back in 1998 still remains popular today. In the United States, in 2019, Smart EQ Fortwo sales totaled 496.
