US Natural Gas Storage Rises More than Expected

During the week concluding on March 21, 2025, U.S. utilities injected 37 billion cubic feet of natural gas into storage facilities, surpassing the market's anticipated increase of 25 billion cubic feet. This represents the second week in a row of rising U.S. natural gas reserves. The South Central region recorded the most significant increase, adding 37 billion cubic feet, followed by the East with an increase of 3 billion cubic feet, and the Midwest with a 1 billion cubic feet rise. Despite these increases, current storage levels remain 24.2% lower than at the same time last year and are 6.5% below the five-year average.
