Taiwan Industrial Production Surges 11.2%

In September, Taiwan's industrial production sustained its robust growth, as reported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs on Wednesday. Despite a slight slowdown from August's 12.5 percent increase, industrial production still saw a significant 11.2 percent rise compared to the previous year, marking continuous growth since March.

Breaking down the numbers, the manufacturing sector experienced a remarkable annual surge of 12.11 percent. In contrast, mining and quarrying production went up by a modest 2.41 percent. However, the utility sector faced a downturn, with output declining by 6.82 percent.

On a month-to-month basis, industrial production edged up by an adjusted 0.1 percent from August, following a notable 4.3 percent rise in the previous month.
