NHTSA Reportedly Launches Probe Into More Than 368K Ford SUVs Over Loss Of Braking Ability

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated an inquiry into approximately 368,309 Ford Motor Co. (F) Edge SUVs following reports of potential brake failures linked to malfunctioning rear brake hoses, as per recent media coverage.

This investigation has been prompted by the U.S. regulator receiving 36 complaints related to unexpected loss of braking capability, an issue that could significantly extend the stopping distance of the vehicles.

The initial phase of the investigation will focus on assessing the extent of this reported problem in Edge SUVs from the 2015-2017 model years.
