New Zealand Interest Rate Decision Due On Wednesday

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will conclude its monetary policy meeting on Wednesday and subsequently announce its decision on interest rates, marking a relatively subdued day for Asia-Pacific economic activities. The RBNZ is broadly anticipated to maintain its Official Cash Rate at 5.50 percent.

China is set to disclose its June statistics for consumer and producer prices. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is expected to remain unchanged on a monthly basis and rise by 0.4 percent year-on-year, following a 0.1 percent decrease month-on-month and a 0.3 percent year-on-year increase in May. Producer prices are projected to decline by 0.8 percent year-on-year, after falling by 1.4 percent the previous month.

South Korea will release its unemployment data for June; the unemployment rate stood at 2.8 percent in May.

Japan will announce its June figures for producer prices, with expectations pointing to a 0.4 percent monthly increase and a 2.9 percent yearly rise, following a 0.7 percent monthly gain and a 2.4 percent yearly increase in May.

Australia will provide its May data for building approvals, with forecasts indicating a 5.5 percent monthly increase, rebounding from a 0.3 percent decline in April.
