Swiss Market Ends Modestly Higher

The Swiss market closed slightly higher on Monday, as stocks rebounded following a weak opening and exhibited consistent buying interest.

The benchmark SMI rose by 45.52 points, or 0.38%, ending the session at 12,051.66. Throughout the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 11,980.36 and a high of 12,111.00.

Swiss Re led the gains with an increase of 2.61%. Holcim advanced approximately 1.8%, Swiss Life Holding appreciated nearly 1.5%, and Givaudan climbed 1.13%.

Notable risers also included Zurich Insurance Group, Sandoz Group, ABB, VAT Group, Alcon, Novartis, and Lindt & Sprüngli, each improving between 0.5% and 1%.

Conversely, Kuehne + Nagel declined by 3.1%, while Julius Baer and Straumann Holding fell by 1.8% and 1.67%, respectively. Richemont, SIG Group, and Partners Group registered losses between 0.8% and 1.1%.

Roche Holding, Sonova, and Swatch Group ended the day with modest declines.
