Accenture plc (Ticker: ACN) announced on Monday that it has acquired Excelmax Technologies, a semiconductor design services provider based in Bangalore, India. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Excelmax specializes in custom silicon solutions utilized in consumer devices, data centers, artificial intelligence (AI), and computational platforms that support edge AI deployments. Their services cater to clients within the automotive, telecommunications, and high-tech sectors.

This acquisition is set to integrate approximately 450 Excelmax professionals into Accenture, bolstering expertise in vital areas such as emulation, automotive, physical design, analog, logic design, and verification.

Karthik Narain, Group Chief Executive for Technology at Accenture, commented, "With the rapid evolution of new technologies like generative AI and the growth of connected products, there is a rising demand for more intricate and specialized chips that offer enhanced performance and efficiency. Our acquisition of Excelmax augments our capabilities in every facet of silicon design and development—from concept to production—enabling us to help our clients drive innovation and growth."

This acquisition comes on the heels of Accenture's 2022 addition of XtremeEDA, a silicon design services company based in Ottawa, Canada.
