Huawei to open 5G factory in France

Not so long ago Chinese telecom giant Huawei was at the center of several spy scandals. Nowadays, the company has announced the upcoming construction of a factory in France to produce 4G and 5G network equipment. Notably, France's minimum wage, as well as land leases and taxes, are one of the highest in Europe. In terms of commercial benefit, Huawei’s decision appears to be more than irrational. China has always been famous for its cheap labour force and relatively low taxes, as well as it is the major target market. That is the reason why so many foreign businesses prefer to build factories on the Chinese territory while Huawei is looking for new business opportunities. Huawei's decision to build a plant in France may be explained by as an attempt to implement its technologies in Europe. At the moment, Huawei chairman Liang Hua is engaged in talks with the French authorities. Liang Hua says that French facility will employ at least 500 people.
