The era of Windows 7 has come to an end. Microsoft has officially announced that it will no longer support the legendary operating system. Windows 7, widely regarded as one of the most popular OS for desktop computers, made its official debut to the public on October 22, 2009. Although Microsoft ramped up its efforts to make Windows 10 the most sought-after product, the number of customers using the older operating system remained high. Moreover, it even edged up last year. Now users of this version are left to their own devices. Technical assistance as well as software and security system updates from Windows are no longer available for the product. According to the company, their 10-year period of the product support for Windows 7 ended on January 14. The company is aware that the transition may prove to be fraught with difficulties, so it promises to provide recommendations on what to do next and answer questions regarding the termination of technical support. At the same time, Microsoft noted that the owners of Microsoft Security Essentials, a business version of the operating system with a paid support service of up to three years, would continue to receive security patches.
