It is indeed awesome for the country to be economically independent when local producers can supply enough to satisfy consumers’ demand. Donald Trump is sure it would be fair to say that about the United States as introducing the new tariffs on China’s goods has not really affected the American economy so far.
The President personally reported that there was no notable increase in prices after new tariffs were imposed. Billions of dollars keep on flowing into the country's budget, while Americans do not notice any extra burden on their family budgets. Besides, there is a way to beat China’s trump card – its cheap labor force. Thus, US producers are moving their manufacturing plants to other Asian countries in order to avoid tariffs, while the Chinese are losing jobs.
Looking back, May’s round of the US-China talks did not bring any results as the Chinese representatives broke their previous promises and excluded the most important clauses from the agreement.
Donald Trump was not happy about it and raised the US tariffs on China’s imports to 25% from 10% amounting to about $200 billion. Moreover, he ordered to begin the process of raising tariffs on another bunch of goods from China. In any case, the United States seems to be sustaining no losses in this clash of the two economies so far. “No visible increase in costs or inflation, but U.S. is taking in Billions!” the US President wrote on Twitter.
