Further growth became limited because the first test of 149.84 coincided with the sharp rise of the MACD line from zero. As for the second test, it took place when the MACD line went within the overbought area, prompting a sell signal. However, no strong price decrease occurred in the pair.

Yen rose in price due to the Bank of Japan's participation in the sale of 10-year bonds. It hovered around 150, and much depends on whether or not it will be surpassed.

No important US data will come out today, except for the report on job vacancies. However, it will not really affect the market much. The speech of FOMC member Raphael Bostic could stimulate demand for dollar, potentially pushing yen lower.

For long positions:

Buy when the price hits 149.96 (green line on the chart) and take profit at 150.46. Growth will continue, extending the bullish market trend. This will occur after good US data and hawkish comments from Fed representatives.

Sell when the price reaches 149.44 (red line on the chart) and take profit at 148.95. Pressure will return in the event of another intervention by the central bank.

When selling, ensure that the MACD line lies below zero or drops down from it. Also consider selling USD/JPY after two consecutive price tests of 149.96, but the MACD line should be in the overbought area as only by that will the market reverse to 149.44 and 148.95.

Important: Novice traders need to be very careful when making decisions about entering the market. Before the release of important reports, it is best to stay out of the market to avoid being caught in sharp fluctuations in the rate. If you decide to trade during the release of news, then always place stop orders to minimize losses. Without placing stop orders, you can very quickly lose your entire deposit, especially if you do not use money management and trade large volumes.

And remember that for successful trading, you need to have a clear trading plan. Spontaneous trading decision based on the current market situation is an inherently losing strategy for an intraday trader.
