This unexpected growth provoked an increase in Bitcoin's market capitalization to 63.44% of the market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies. For comparison, yesterday's volume of the indicated coin amounted to 53.91% of the total volume of cryptocurrencies.

It should also be recalled that the leading cryptocurrency began its spectacular series of ups and downs last December 2020, when its price sharply surged. After that, it broke the all-time high of $ 20,042, held since 2017. Bitcoin managed to overcome this high more than twice in a fairly short period of time. And on January 8, the main digital coin set another historical record, reporting a level of $41,950, but then it began to significantly correct. Today, the price of bitcoin is still 19.26% below its peak values reached in early January.

As for other cryptocurrencies, Ethereum's value reached the level of $1,337, that is, an increase of 6.96% on the previous day. The price of Tether, on the other hand, declined by 0.14%, namely at $1,0003 mark.

The market capitalization of Ethereum was previously 15.53% of the volume of all cryptocurrencies, while the market capitalization of Tether was 2.59%.
