EUR/USD Hot Forecast for 5th August

During the first half of Wednesday's trading session, the single European currency surged by 53 pips or 0.45% against the US Dollar. But, the EUR/USD pair surrendered the earlier gains by the end of Wednesday's session.

EUR/USD is trading around 1.1850, hit by hawkish comments by Fed's Vice Chair Clarida and President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Mary Daly. The central bank signaled that tapering its bond-buying program is in the cards.

The currency pair has fallen below both the 50 and 200 Simple Moving Averages on the four-hour chart. Moreover, momentum remains to the downside, adding to the bearish sentiment.

Support is at the intraday low of 1.1828, which is backed up by the 100 SMA. Further down, the next noteworthy cushion is at 1.1775, followed by 1.1750. Resistance is at 1.1850, which is the intraday high and it is also where the 50 and 200 SMAs hit the price. Further above, 1.1905 and 1.1945 await EUR/USD bulls.
