In February 2025, Uruguay reported a trade deficit of $111.72 million, an improvement from the $140.08 million deficit reported in the same period the previous year. This continues a six-month trend of running trade deficits. Export figures showed significant growth, increasing by 16.4% year-on-year to reach $748.36 million. This surge was supported by a 10.0% increase in manufactured goods, a notable 33.0% rise in primary goods, and a 15.4% increase in the utilities sector. On the import side, there was a 14.3% rise, totaling $860.08 million, with growth driven by a 4.5% rise in intermediate goods, a substantial 23.7% increase in consumer goods, and a 26.5% climb in capital goods.
