Tokyo Overall Inflation Climbs 2.2% On Year In September

Consumer prices in the Tokyo region of Japan increased by 2.2 percent year-on-year in September, according to a report released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on Friday.

This figure aligns with market forecasts and represents a decrease from the 2.6 percent rise observed in August.

Excluding the volatile costs of food, the core Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw an annual increase of 2.0 percent. This also matched expectations and marked a slowdown from the 2.4 percent growth recorded in the previous month.
