Spain Producer Prices Continue To Fall

Spain's producer prices continued to decline in August, albeit at a reduced pace, according to data released by the statistical office INE on Wednesday.

On a yearly basis, producer prices fell by 1.3 percent, following a 1.6 percent decrease in July. The trend of falling prices has been ongoing since March 2023.

Month-over-month, producer prices increased by 1.5 percent, maintaining the same growth rate observed in July.

The annual decrease was primarily driven by a 6.0 percent drop in energy prices and a 1.2 percent decline in intermediate goods prices. Conversely, prices for capital goods and consumer goods rose by 2.3 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.
