Latvia Inflation Rises To 1.4% In September

Latvia experienced an acceleration in consumer price inflation in September, marking the highest level observed over a three-month period, as per the data released by the statistical office on Tuesday. The year-on-year inflation rate for consumer prices in September was 1.4 percent, a noticeable uptick from the steady 0.7 percent increase recorded in August.

Breaking it down, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices saw an annual rise of 1.2 percent in September, while health-related costs edged up by 0.4 percent. Conversely, transport expenses decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous year.

When examining month-on-month figures, consumer prices climbed by 0.3 percent in September, reversing the 0.5 percent decline noted in the preceding month.
