Queen Elizabeth II gives Brexit bill Royal Assent

Queen Elizabeth II has given the Brexit bill Royal Assent. The bill has officially become law. “Withdrawal Agreement has been given Royal Assent,” said Jacob Rees-Mogg, Leader of the House of Commons, in his Twitter. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to sign the agreement in the near future. The document will also be ratified by the European Parliament in late January. The UK will officially leave the European Union at 23:00 GMT on January 31. However, the transmission period is expected to last until the end of 2020. After long debates, the parties managed to work out the agreement that would suit both the UK and the EU and mitigate the adverse impact of Brexit. Anyway, the UK will continue to discuss a complex trade agreement with Europe aimed at regulating trade relations between the ex-partners.
