Apparently, statistics from financial markets can revive spirits, boost economy and show country’s growth. For some, it is just figures, but they can bring joy to particular people.
Recently, US President Donald Trump personally experienced such kind of joy. The American leader highly appreciated the growth of the US indices in the stock market and shared this bright news with the Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras at a joint press conference. It's hard to say what exactly Tsipras felt at that moment, given unsteady financial situation in his own country and total dependence on loans. However, the young but experienced politician did not miss a beat and showed joy of the good news, together with Trump, who stated that the White House is very happy due to the record growth of the major stock indices.
The White House indeed has a reason for joy. The US equity market for the first time in history jumped above the level of 23 thousand points. The index of the S&P 500 has grown by almost 14% since January; the Dow Jones Industrial index has increased by more than 15%.
