Technical Analysis of BTC/USD for June 26, 2023

Crypto Industry News:

While the traditional financial sector is starting to get more involved with digital assets, many in the industry seem to be saying that "the future of banking is Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies." There are a number of different opinions about what would happen if current trends remained unchanged.

Cameron Winklevoss, co-founder of Gemini, for example, announced the launch of a "great Bitcoin accumulation" between retail investors and financial institutions. He suggested that due to the growing interest from companies, there could be a fierce competition for the acquisition of a top asset between these two classes of investors. He compared buying Bitcoins before ETFs went public to acquiring shares in a company before its initial public offering. He added that the "locks" to buy BTC are closing fast.

Bitcoin investor Anthony Pompliano expressed his belief that there could be a tug of war between Wall Street and smaller investors. He stressed that retail investors could refuse to sell Wall Street, which would make Bitcoin "highly illiquid" for a period of time.

Pompliano noted that "we have institutions and individuals trying to get their share of the finite pool of 21 million Bitcoins. The retail investor has a lead of 15 years and has accumulated all the bitcoins mined and put into circulation, but 68% of them have not been touched in a year."

It predicts that an increase in demand will cause a price change. "Bitcoin went from 0 to nearly $1 trillion in market capitalization with almost zero institutional involvement," he says.

Bitcoin expert Dylan LeClair predicts that its price is "extremely inelastic." However, it adds that no ETF applications will be approved by the SEC until early 2024.

Despite the obstacles, the financial industry is rather optimistic about the future of cryptocurrencies. Many experts believe that the growing interest of institutions will make Bitcoin gain even more value and reputation. Even if the SEC does not approve any ETF application until 2024, enthusiasts are convinced that it is only a matter of time.
