US shares higher at close of trade; Dow Jones up 0.30%

At the close in New York, the Dow Jones rose 0.30%, the S&P 500 rose 0.41% and the NASDAQ Composite rose 0.47%.

In the leaders of growth among the components of the Dow Jones at the end of today's trading were shares of Microsoft Corporation, which rose in price by 4.35 points (1.51%), to close at around 293.11. Procter & Gamble Company rose 1.33% or 1.86 points to end trading at 141.19. Salesforce.com Inc rose 1.29% or 3.50 points to close at 275.27.

The biggest losers were Dow Inc, which fell 3.28% or 1.94 points to end the session at 57.16. Cisco Systems Inc was up 1.37% or 0.75 points to end at 53.94, while Merck & Company Inc was down 1.15% or 0.94 points to end at 80.66.

The top gainers among the components of the S&P 500 at the end of today's trading were Intercontinental Exchange Inc., which rose 3.84% to 122.62, CSX Corporation, which gained 3.53% to close at 32.54, and also Vulcan Materials Company, which rose 3.21% to end at 174.71.

The biggest losers were Electronic Arts Inc, which fell 6.95% to close at 134.07. Nektar Therapeutics shares lost 5.95% to end the session at 16.12. Seagate Technology PLC was down 5.33% to 80.61.

Voyager Therapeutics Inc, which gained 56.68% to 3.870, Grom Social Enterprises Inc, which gained 48.35% to close at 4.940, and Nextplay were the top gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite Index at the end of today's trading. Technologies Inc, which rose 28.24% to end at 1.680.

The biggest losers were DatChat Inc, which fell 17.08% to close at 7.38. Shares of ACON S2 Acquisition Corp shed 16.11% to end the session at 7,500. Erasca Inc was down 16.04% to 19.10.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in value (1,777) exceeded the number of securities that closed in positive territory (1,398), while the quotations of 144 shares remained practically unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange 2,191 companies fell in price, 1,345 increased, and 150 remained at the level of the previous close.

Intercontinental Exchange Inc rose to an all-time high, rising 3.84%, 4.54 points to trade at 122.62. ACON S2 Acquisition Corp fell to historic lows, down 16.11%, 1.440 points to trade at 7,500.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, sank 1.41% to trade at 21.00.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 3.85 to $ 1,764.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, WTI crude for November delivery fell 2.34%, or 1.85, to $ 77.08 a barrel. Futures contracts for Brent oil for December delivery fell 2.10%, or 1.73, to trade at $ 80.83 a barrel.

Meanwhile, on the Forex market, EUR / USD was down 0.32% to hit 1.1559, while USD / JPY fell 0.04% to hit 111.41.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 94.213.
