Victoria Falls

It is one of the most amazing waterfalls in the world, and it is located in Africa. The waterfall was formed due to the whole Zambezi River dropped into a deep, narrow slot-like chasm connected to a long series of gorges. Victoria is the only waterfall in the world that has a length of over a kilometer and a height of over 100 meters. Its noise is heard at a distance of 40 kilometers, and splashes and fog from the falling water rise to a height of 400 meters and can be seen from a distance of 50 kilometers. Sometimes here the so-called "moon" rainbows are formed as a result of the refraction of the Moon's light rays. The waterfall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Yosemite Falls

In the Yosemite Valley, there is a waterfall of the same name which falls off a cliff in the eastern part of Mount El Capitan. This is a seasonal waterfall, it can be seen only in winter and spring. At the beginning of the year, the height of the Yosemite waterfall does not exceed 630 meters. However, in February, the masses of water turn into a stream of fire or hot lava. The waterfall became known when a famous photographer and climber Galen Rouvel managed to photograph and publish a photo on which the waterfall is displayed in bright red.

Ruacana Falls

The waterfall of Ruacana is located between Namibia and Angola. This impressive natural phenomenon represents the point of crossing the borders of the two countries. The waterfall is the continuation of the river Cunene. It falls from a height of 124 meters. In a season when the river is full of water, the waterfall of Ruacana looks awesome and fascinates with roaring streams of water.

Angel Falls

The Angel Falls is one of the highest in the world. It is located in the mountains of Venezuela on the Carrao River which is one of the tributaries of the Orinoco. Angel Falls is located in the territory of the Canaima National Park. Since ancient times, local Indian tribes called it the Churun-Meru waterfall ("The Waterfall of the Deepest Place"), and the plateau from which it falls is Auyán-tepui. The waterfall is surrounded by tropical forests, and you can get there only by airplane or by water transport.

Huangguoshu Waterfall

This waterfall is considered to be one of the largest in China and East Asia. Its height is 78 meters, and its length is 101 meters. Huangguoshu is called the Milky Way of the Earth. It is located on the territory of the eponymous nature park among 18 waterfalls of different size. Together with Huangguoshu they form the largest group of waterfalls in the world and are listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Note that this is the only waterfall that can be admired from six different points.

Kaieteur Falls

The Kaieteur waterfall is the world's largest single drop waterfall by the volume of water flowing over it. It is located on the Potaro River and is part of the Kaieteur National Park. The height of the waterfall is 226 meters and the width is about 105 meters. It is three times bigger than the Niagara Falls and twice as big as the Victoria Falls. Kaieteur is considered a remote waterfall because it is located far from popular tourist routes.

Gocta Waterfall

The Gokta waterfall is one of the highest on the Earth. It is located in the Peruvian province of Bongara. The height of the waterfall is 771 meters. The volume of water in it depends on the amount of precipitation. In the vicinity of the waterfall, there are several species of endangered animals. Among them are spectacled bear, puma, toucans, as well as rare species of hummingbirds and parrots.

Niagara Falls

This popular, impressive waterfall is located in the USA. It is considered one of the most popular tourist attractions in America. The waterfall is located on the Niagara River which connects Lakes Erie and Ontario. On both sides of the river, Canadian and American, cities were formed with the same names, Niagara Falls. Niagara is a complex of waterfalls the total width of which is more than a kilometer. There is a powerful hydroelectric power station on the Niagara waterfall.
