French Carnival is the third most popular one after the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro and Venice.

In 2017, the Promenade des Anglais, where the attack occurred last summer, was empty. In spite of the tradition, the march decided to bypass this place.

In addition, as a security measure, this year the entrance to the carnival was not free. Five euros were charged per person.

It is noted that the event was attended by fewer people than in previous years. Everyone is afraid of possible terrorist attacks.
