Finland
Finland tops the rating of the countries with the best school education 2016. Finland has been holding leading positions for quite a long time. One of the advantages of the Finnish system is that all kids regardless of their abilities study in one class. As a result there is almost no gap between the strongest and weakest pupils. Besides, children in Finland have relatively little homework.
Switzerland
The second place is taken by Switzerland. Just 5% of the Swiss kids go to private schools. Lessons are given in different languages depending on the country's region. Most popular languages are German, French, and Italian. In junior high school pupils are divided into classes according to their abilities.
Belgium
Belgian schools take the third place in the list. The country's educational system includes four types of secondary education: General Secondary Education, Technical Secondary Education, Vocational Secondary Education, and Art Secondary Education. In Belgium, education has high priority. The lion share of regional funding is allocated to education.
Singapore
Singapore occupies the fourth position in the rating. Singaporean students show very high results in the PISA tests (Program for International Student Assessment). However, kids suffer from great stress at a young age.
Netherlands
The Netherlands entered the list of the countries with best school education at the fifth place. According to the UNICEF study (United Nations Children's Fund), Dutch children were the happiest in the world as of 2013; they are content with their educational process. In Dutch school, kids do not have much homework until junior high school. In addition to private schools, in the Netherlands there are faith and state schools.
Qatar
Qatari schools hold the sixth place in the rating. The government readily invests in education and supports various projects from literacy promotion to high-end research. A lot of funds have been allocated to the education system as a part of the Vision 2030 project. Qatar's citizens can receive education for free.
Ireland
Rounding out the top seven is Ireland. There are a lot of private schools in the country funded by the government. State and vocational schools are also supported by the government. However, spending on education has dropped 15 percent recently, which may cause problems for the school system in future.
