2. Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton has held second place in the ranking for two years now. The French brand of luxury products has seen its market capitalization up by 12% over the past twelve months. Currently, its market value is estimated at $26 billion. The Louis Vuitton fashion house manufactures clothing, accessories (in particular, suitcases and bags), and perfumes. It is part of the LVMH transnational company, owned by the world’s wealthiest person, billionaire Bernard Arnault.

3. Chanel

French fashion house Chanel is the third most expensive lavish brand on the Brand Finance list. Its market capitalization has soared by 27% to more than $19 billion over the past twelve months. Chanel produces clothing, accessories, perfumes, makeup, jewelry, watches, and other luxury products. The brand belongs to brothers Alain and Gerard Wertheimer. They are the grandchildren of Pierre Wertheimer, the business partner of Chanel fashion house founder Coco Chanel.

4. Gucci

This Italian fashion house has dropped in the Brand Finance ranking of the world’s most expensive luxury brands. Over the past twelve months, the market capitalization of Gucci has shrunk by 1.5%. Currently, its market value is estimated at slightly less than $18 billion. Gucci produces clothing, accessories, textiles, and perfumes. Its owner is French conglomerate Kering, a company controlled by the Pinault family.

5. Hermes

Hermes, a French fashion house with a market capitalization of more than $14 billion, rounds out the top five of the most expensive lavish brands in the world. The company manufactures perfumes, clothing, and various accessories, including luggage, bags, scarves, and gloves. The brand belongs to the heirs of Thierry Hermes, who founded the company in the middle of the 19th century.
