- On Sunday, October 30, the Russian Navy founding day was celebrated in Russia. This holiday originated in 1696, since the time of Peter I. One of the famous ships is the cruiser "Aurora" - the ship played a historical role during the Great Socialist Revolution. It is one of the Russian cultural heritage properties.
- The aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" can be named the pride of the Russian Navy. In its class it is the only ship that is used to destruct the large surface enemy objects. It was built in 1980s in the Black Sea Shipyard and named after N.G. Kuznetsov, the admiral of the Soviet Union fleet.
One of the oldest ships in Russia and the world is a submarine salvage ship "Kommuna", created in 1915.
- Three years ago, the diesel-electric submarine B-261 "Novorossiysk" became a part of the Russian Navy. It is created to combat enemy submarines and ships, as well as protect naval bases and coastlines.
- Another Russian submarine - "Yury Dolgorukiy" - can boast of its new generation ballistic missiles. The submarine was launched in 2009. It was created in the "Sevmash" factory in Severodvinsk.
In 1989, the fourth nuclear missile cruiser of the third generation "Peter the Great" joined the Russian Navy. The ship is designed to eliminate the enemy aircraft carrier groups.
