Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition, ADEX 2016, has begun at Baku Expo Centre.
More than 300 types of Russian weaponry, including full-scale models, will be showcased at the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition. Russian Helicopters will present a number of advanced projects for the commercial market, including the new Ka-226T, Ansat, Mi-171A2, Ka-62 and Mi-38. The Ka-52 Alligator and Mi-28NE Night Hunter combat helicopters will also be presented and the Mi-35M military transport helicopter will be on static display. The first medium civil AW139 helicopter assembled by the joint Russian-Italian venture HeliVert may also be presented to the Russian market at the exhibition.
Some enterprises will reportedly bring to ADEX-2016 full-scale models of weapons and military equipment, including the Metis-M1 anti-tank missile system, the Krasnopol-M2 high-precision artillery system, missiles for the Pantsir-S1 air defense systems and the modernized T-72 tank.
The company from South Africa introduced a jointly developed with Azerbaijan armoured vehicles - the Marauder, protecting against mines, and the Matador, designed to patrol the area. The Marauder was developed for reconnaissance and peacekeeping missions. It carries a crew of up to ten, including a driver and commander. Originally designed to operate in urban, built-up and confined areas it is smaller in both size and weight than the Matador.
Azerbaijani companies also have demonstrated the developed anti-missile system Roketsan.
An impressive arsenal of sniper rifles and guns of various modifications is represented at the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition.
The special reconnaissance patrol vehicle Gurza, fitted with antitank guided missiles, was also demonstrated to the visitors of ADEX-2016.
