The Bloomberg agency compiled a list of the happiest and unhappiest countries on the planet, which included 74 countries. It is formed on the basis of an index of unhappiness, consisting of such indicators as the level of inflation and unemployment.
Thailand
Thailand is in the first place among the happiest countries in the world. Here, the index of unhappiness, including inflation and unemployment rates, is 1.11%. Inflation in Thailand does not exceed 0.11%, and unemployment - 1% of the total working population of the country.
Singapore
The second place in the ranking of the happiest cities on the planet is occupied by Singapore with an index of 1.40%. Here, within the last 20 months, a drop in prices for consumer goods has been recorded. In Singapore, there is a high standard of living and the largest number of millionaires per capita. This city-state is considered a major financial and trade center.
Japan
The third place in the ranking of the lucky countries went to Japan with an index of 2.70%. In the state, there is an insignificant level of unemployment. One of the problems of the Japanese economy is high debt (more than 225% of GDP). The country's leadership is taking various measures to stimulate economic growth.
Switzerland
The fourth place in the ranking of the happiest countries is taken by Switzerland - the leading exporter of gold in the world. The economy of the country is considered one of the largest on the globe. Switzerland boasts a high standard of living and its duration, excellent health. The unemployment rate does not exceed 3.4%.
Iceland
Iceland took the fifth place in the ranking. Its economy occupies the 115th place in the world, but this is due to the low population of the country's territories. Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, has a fairly high standard of living, and citizens of the state live very long.
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan opens the rating of the most unfortunate countries in the world. Its economy is leading in Central Asia. One of the main industries is energy, which is now experiencing difficulties.
Egypt
Egypt is one of the most economically developed states in North Africa. The unemployment rate has risen in the country, which is due to the deterioration in tourism - one of the key segments of the Egyptian economy.
South Africa

Bosnia and Herzegovina
The fourth place in the ranking of the most problematic states went to Bosnia and Herzegovina with an index of 48.97%. The country is dominated by a transitional economy, heavily dependent on exports of metals, textiles, electricity and foreign investment. Its public debt is equal to 45% of GDP, unemployment - 43.9%, inflation - 0.9%.
Venezuela
The last in the list of the bleakest states is Venezuela with a record index of 188.2%. For many years the country has been the most unfortunate economy of the planet. The collapse of oil prices led to a shortage of food and medicine, and inflation was 181% per year. Venezuela received a loan of almost half a billion dollars for the purchase of essential goods.
