In February 2025, Russia's industrial production experienced a modest year-on-year growth of 0.2%, a slowdown from the 2.2% increase recorded in January and below market expectations of a 1.8% rise. This represents the slowest growth since February 2023, when industrial output had contracted by 2%. The manufacturing sector showed a significant deceleration, with growth at 3.2% compared to January's 7%. Furthermore, declines were noted in several sectors: mining decreased by 4.9% compared to a 2.1% decline previously, electricity and gas production and distribution fell by 3% after a 6.4% drop, and water and sewage distribution decreased by 1.8% following a 3.2% increase. On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased by 0.4% in February, following a substantial 24.1% decline in the previous month.
