Sweden's business confidence index dropped to 99.1 in March 2025, a decline from the revised figure of 101.2 in February. This marks the lowest point since November 2024, although it still hovers around the historical norm of 100. Companies continue to exhibit a pessimistic outlook regarding demand (-27, consistent with February) and face challenges in forecasting business conditions compared to six months prior. The number of employees saw a decline over the past quarter (-3 compared to -4 previously), albeit at a reduced rate. Looking forward, there is cautious optimism in hiring intentions, which remain positive but are slightly subdued from the previous month (4 compared to 6). Meanwhile, expectations for sales prices over the coming quarter have increased for the fourth consecutive month (24 compared to 22), principally fueled by developments in the trade sector.
