In March 2025, France witnessed a dip in its consumer confidence indicator, which dropped to 92 from January's 93, falling short of market predictions set at 94. This figure also lingers below the long-term average of 100. Consumers have become more pessimistic regarding their financial prospects, with the index moving from -4 in February to -11, and their expectations concerning the future standard of living also deteriorating, shifting from -47 to -50. Additionally, the percentage of households anticipating a rise in prices over the upcoming year has increased from -43 to -41, whereas those considering it an opportune moment to save decreased, moving from 42 to 40. However, the outlook for consumers' future saving ability held steady at 15. In contrast, concerns about unemployment receded, improving from 54 to 46, and households exhibited a slight reduction in their reluctance to make significant purchases, with the index improving from -28 to -26.
