Bit Digital, Inc. (BTBT) has officially announced the procurement of real estate and a facility for a custom-designed 5MW Tier-3 data center expansion project located in Montreal, Canada. The transaction is valued at C$33.5 million, approximately $23.3 million USD.
This acquisition, finalized on December 27, aims to cater to the requirements of a new client planning to utilize the capacity with state-of-the-art Nvidia (NVDA) GPUs.
The New York City-headquartered company projects a development expenditure of C$27.6 million, about $19.3 million USD, to upgrade the location to Tier-3 standards, featuring an initial power capacity of 5MW. The construction is scheduled for completion and operation by May 2025.
In pre-market trading, Bit Digital's stock has declined by 3.47%, adjusting to $3.07 on the Nasdaq.
