Austria's producer prices exhibited a slower decline in November, marking the slowest reduction in the past four months, as reported by Statistics Austria on Monday.
The producer price index experienced a year-over-year decrease of 2.0 percent in November, which is an improvement compared to the 2.3 percent decline recorded in October. The downward trend in prices has been ongoing since July 2023.
The primary factor contributing to this decrease was an 11.9 percent drop in energy prices, though this was less severe than the 12.7 percent decrease observed in October.
Conversely, the prices of intermediate goods increased by 1.0 percent compared to the previous year. In addition, capital goods and consumer goods saw respective increases of 2.6 percent and 2.8 percent.
On a month-to-month basis, producer prices rose by 0.4 percent from October, when they had recorded a 0.3 percent increase.
