FX.co ★ Eni Begins Baleine Field Phase 2 Production - Quick Facts

Eni has announced the successful commencement of production for Phase 2 of the Baleine field. The company highlighted that the Final Investment Decision for this project was made in December 2022, with Phase 1 launching in August 2023. Simultaneously, activities for Phase 2 were executed and completed safely. Notably, Baleine is recognized as Africa’s first net zero emission Upstream project.

Eni has been operating in Côte d'Ivoire since 2015, currently achieving an equity production of approximately 22,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. With the recent advancement, production capacity is set to reach 60,000 barrels of oil per day, alongside 70 million cubic feet of associated gas. Further expansions include the ongoing development of Phase 3, projected to elevate total production to 150,000 barrels of oil per day and 200 million cubic feet of associated gas.
