Samsung Electronics leads the list of technology giants. In 2017, the company spent $44 billion on the construction of new plants and expansion of existing production facilities.
PetroChina
The second rank is given to PetroChina. The volume of its corporate investments reached $29 billion.
China Mobile
China Mobile, another Chinese company, rounds up the top three. The volume of its investments expanded to $27 billion
Gazprom
The fourth rank in the list of investment giants is given to the Russian Gazprom. The company's spending is mainly related to the construction of pipelines. The oil and gas giant is implementing such projects as Nord Stream 2, Turkish Stream, and Power of Siberia. In 2017, the company's total expenditures were $25 billion.
Royal Dutch Shell
Royal Dutch Shell is on the fifth place in this rating. The oil company managed to recover from the collapse of crude prices. Last year, it spent $23 billion.
At&T
On the sixth place of the list is At&T, an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate. It ranks first in the US in terms of investment that goes to further development of the company. Last year its volume reached $22 billion.
Arris
The seventh place is taken by Arris, a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment and high-speed data transmission systems. The company's investment expanded to $22 billion.
Volkswagen
The eighth place is given to a representative of the German car industry, Volkswagen. In 2017, the company's investments reached $21 billion. During the next five years, the volume of investments is expected to grow to $86.4 billion. $40.8 billion of that sum will go to the development of electric cars, digital technologies, and autonomous vehicles.
Exxon Mobil
Exxon Mobil oil company is on the ninth position in the list of companies with biggest investments. Its expenses amounts to $18 billion.
Verizon Communications
Verizon Communications, an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate, rounds up the top ten. Last year its investment volume reached $17 billion.
