3. Health and social services – 24%
An increase in assessments of the prestige of the professions in the sphere of health and social services is connected to the policy of federal, regional and local authorities to create comfortable working conditions, ensure social guarantees and increase wages.
4. Construction – 17%
Despite the active development of the construction industry, there is still a shortage of workers, so construction companies are ready to guarantee decent wages and create good working conditions to attract employees. Therefore, the profitability of the work of a welder or crane operator makes these professions very prestigious. Project managers are also highly valued, as well as top managers of construction companies.
5. Education – 17%
Prestigious professions are chosen by people for whom not only earnings and self-realization are important but also the status in society. The authority of a teacher or a professor in society is very high, therefore the professions connected with the sphere of education do not cease to remain prestigious. The growth of teachers' salaries favors it.
6. Trading – 14%
High requirements for prompt and high-quality servicing of the rapidly growing demand of the population guarantee the popularity of the trading sphere at the present stage of the development of human relations. Therefore, the profession of a manager, a seller, a consultant, and a cashier continues being in the top 10.
7. Service – 12%
The service industry takes a leading position in relation to commodity production. Despite the increasing burden on the service sector, services are delivered to each consumer individually, so employers' interest in such workers has continued unabated. In the conditions of increasing competition, they provide a lot of bonuses attracting the attendants.
8. Agriculture, forestry, hunting, fish farming and fishing – 8%
If we talk about these spheres of production, here, only highly qualified specialties are in the priority, since the performance of work in these spheres of production presupposes practical experience and special knowledge.
9. Military service – 7%
Both the male and female parts of the population are still interested in military service under contract because of the high level of wages and the possibility of obtaining housing, and recently there has been a real stir in some Russian regions. And in peacetime, the profession of an officer looks more attractive.
10. Transportation – 7%
The fulfillment of a socially significant order, the transportation of passengers, is the determining factor in assessing the prestige of the occupations of the driver. And for drivers responsible for the lives of dozens of passengers, rigorous testing is necessary, as for pilots.
