The name of the Italian car brand's novelty has not been confirmed yet, but the SUV working name is known - Urus (probably the brand will leave this name). First cars will go off the assembly line in 2018. For the first time, the Urus prototype was presented at the Motor Show in China in 2012.

Recall, the company Lamborghini is the Volkswagen's subsidiary.

Lamborghini will produce the SUV in their homeland, in the Italian town of Sant'Agata Bolognese. With this, 100 million euros of tax breaks are due to the company.

The Urus will be built on VW Group's MLB-evo platform. Volkswagen has repeatedly used this chassis to create models of brands, belonging to the group.

In December, Lamborghini's R&D chief Maurizio Reggiani confirmed that the SUV will be offered in a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine. This is the latest development. It wasn't used in any other models of the German concern, which includes Lamborghini.

In addition to the classic version, fans of the brand will be able to buy a hybrid version of the car. The battery could be charged from the household power socket. However, the producer does not report additional details about this version of the Urus so far.

Lamborghini has already revealed the targeted countries for the novelty. So, the main markets for the Urus are China, US, Russia, the Middle East, the UK and Germany.

The exact cost of the car is not disclosed; however, a preliminary price tag is known - 170,000 euros. Experts believe that in the end the car price will be a little higher.

Interesting fact: despite the fact that the SUV is not released in China yet, it has already been copied. In 2013, the masters from Yema Auto presented the car, similar to its prototype (it the photo).
