Skytrax, a British consulting company that reviews services in the aviation industry, produces an annual ranking of the best airports in the world. Let us have a look at airports which made the top 5 of Skytrax's latest ranking.

1st place - Changi Airport (Singapore)

Changi Airport, the only airport in the city-state of Singapore, was opened in 1981. Since then, it has won several Skytrax World Airport Awards. In 2023, Changi became the world's best airport once again after topping the list in 2020. Singapore's international airport covers an area of 13 thousand square meters and consists of 4 passenger terminals. Its main highlight is Jewel, an indoor park which features a huge waterfall, a terraced forest, a butterfly garden and many other attractions.

2nd place – Hamad International Airport (Qatar)

Qatar’s main airport is located in its capital city of Doha. Opened in 2014, it occupied the top spot on Skytrax’s list in 2021 and 2022. A distinctive feature of this airport is its unusual design, which was inspired by its desert location. Hamad International Airport has an oasis theme, with many tropical plants planted within it. But the main highlight of this airport are the modern works of art that can be found in almost every corner of Hamad.

3rd place – Haneda Airport (Japan)

Tokyo's Haneda Airport was inaugurated more than 90 years ago. Being the closest airport to the Japanese capital, it has a very long history. Today it is the main hub of Japan's two major airlines and serves more than 70 million passengers a year. Because of this, Haneda is one of the world's top 5 busiest airports. To make the airport in Tokyo as comfortable as possible for travelers, it has branches of the best Japanese restaurants, luxury hotels, numerous stores, beauty salons, and even a thermal spa.

4th place - Incheon Airport (South Korea)

Constructed for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Incheon Airport, the largest airport in South Korea, is located 70 km from Seoul on two interconnected islands in the Yellow Sea. It is a colossal transportation complex, which resembles a small city in terms of infrastructure. Incheon's amenities include not only hotels, restaurants and shopping malls, but also winter gardens, casinos and even golf courses.

5th place - Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (France)

The main airport of France is named after Charles de Gaulle, France's prominent military and political figure, and was completed in 1974. Charles-de-Gaulle Airport has a striking futuristic design, which regularly attracts the attention of filmmakers. As a result, it has been called one of the most cinematic airports in the world. Paris's main airport is also famous for its well-developed infrastructure. All its terminals have numerous restaurants, shopping points, bank branches, and children's playrooms.
