Last year, a value of Russian imports of musical instruments were $48.1 million. A quarter of these funds fell to digital pianos ($13.2 million). According to customs statistics, 40,041 instruments were imported to the territory of the Russian Federation over the past year.

Acoustic guitars took the second place in terms of import: they were imported for the sum of $10.96 million, and the total number was 290,392 guitars. The main share of imports came from Asia: 219,800 units were delivered from China, 57,800 from Indonesia, and 3,300 from Korea. A much smaller number of guitars came from Belarus, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain and Romania.

The number of imported grand pianos and pianos turned out to be much smaller: they were imported by $8.4 million. In total, 1,567 instruments were delivered. Keyboard instruments come to Russia from China, Japan and Indonesia. The Czech Republic is in third place in the number of imported pianos to the Russian Federation - 254 pieces.

As for the import of synthesizers, in 2015, they were imported to Russia for a sum of $5.1 million, or 72,521 instruments.

Electric guitars are not very popular in Russia: over the year before last, the country received 25,712 instruments worth $2.7 million.

The number of rhythm instruments imported into Russia - drums, xylophones, plates, castanets and maracas - was 143,496 pieces. The total value of this import is $1.3 million.

Over the year before last, Russia imported 7,198 violins from the PRC, the Czech Republic and Romania. Only 2 instruments were imported from Japan. The total value of imports is $278,339.
