The world’s three richest people suffered the most significant losses in 2022. According to Bloomberg estimates, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates have endured a collective $115 billion hit to their net worth since the start of 2022. At the end of May, Musk’s net worth stood at $224 billion, Bezos’ at $139 billion, and Gates' at $23 billion. The billionaires are ranked first, second, and fourth on the list of the world’s richest people. Chairman of French luxury conglomerate LVMH Bernard Arnault is the world’s third-richest person with a net worth of $133 billion. Moreover, his losses were not considerable.

Musk’s net worth has fallen by 46.4 billion, Gate’s net worth has dropped by 15.1 billion, while Arnault has lost 44.7 billion over the past five months. The Amazon founder incurred the most substantial losses which amounted to 53.2 billion. CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett was the only billionaire on the world's top 5 richest people list who managed to increase his capital. Buffett's fortune surged by $6.54 billion to $115 billion.
