European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Final Factory PMI Due

The major report due Thursday will present the final factory Purchasing Managers' survey from the euro area. On this day at 2.30 am ET, figures for Swiss consumer prices and retail sales will be scheduled for release by the Federal Statistical Office. Predictions suggest a slight rise in inflation to 1.1 percent in April from 1.0 percent in March and an annual increase in sales of 0.2 percent in March, this is against a decline of 0.2 percent recorded in February.

Additional data is expected from Spain at 3.15 am ET. This includes the country's manufacturing PMI survey results, where factory PMI is foreseen to decrease to 51.3 in April from 51.4 in March. Similarly, at 3.45 am ET, manufacturing PMI survey findings are also due from Italy. Economists predict a minor decline in the index to 50.3 in April from 50.4 in March. Moreover, at 3.50 am ET, France will release its final factory PMI data. The final reading is expected to remain stable at 44.9 in April, consistent with the initial estimate.

Germany's final PMI data is then due for release at 3.55 am ET. The index is projected to increase slightly to 42.2 in April, matching the initial estimate, from 41.9 in March. Finally, at 4.00 am ET, the final manufacturing PMI data for the Eurozone as a whole is due. The April score is anticipated to align with the initial estimate of 45.6, compared to 46.1 in the previous month of March.
