South Korea's consumer prices remained unchanged on a monthly basis after seasonal adjustments, according to information released by Statistics Korea on Thursday. This fell short of the predicted 0.2% increase and represents a decrease from the 0.1% recorded in March.
On an annual basis, inflation rose by 2.9%, which is slightly below projected forecasts of 3.0% and down from 3.1% in the preceding month.
Core CPI, taking into account all items apart from the fluctuating costs of food, showed a 0.2% monthly increase and a 2.3% annual increase. This data follows the 0.1% increase documented monthly, and a 2.4% increase recorded on an annual basis in March.
